Title: Classic Example
Artist: Classic Example
Label: Essential Media Mod
Product Type: COMPACT DISCS
UPC: 894232288721
Genre: Soul/R & B
Release Date: 2014-12-19
Number of Discs: 1
The Boston combo has a youthful style, but without getting into the teeny bopper stuff that New Kids were known for--the tunes are a lot meatier and grittier than that. And at the same time, Classic Example avoids the type of aggressive, in-your-face new jack swing that was huge in the early 1990s. Emphasizing romantic ballads and slow jams, this 1992 release is best described as neo-soul--it's a perfect example of what music critic Nelson George calls "retro nuevo." The production is high-tech and hip-hop-influenced, but elements of 1960s and 1970s soul still assert themselves.
Tracks:
1.1 That's Groovy
1.2 Without You
1.3 Punish Me
1.4 If You Wanna Love Me
1.5 Little By Little
1.6 We Got a Thing Going on
1.7 I Fould Me a Girl
1.8 Hey There Little Girl
1.9 My Friend Heartaches
1.10 Just Another Lonley Night
